Games
Play ‘Joints charades’. Make movable joints index cards by
writing the following activities on a piece of cardboard or
paper:
– Baseball
– Football
– Basketball
– Push-ups
– Do ‘The robot’
The game: ask students to come out and play the ‘Joints
charades’. They mime the activity while the rest of the class
guess what sport/game it is. Then, all together, work out
which joints are in play in each activity.
Play ‘Toymakers’. You need Zoob or similar modelling
pieces. Organise the class into groups. Each group is going
to build their own robot, animal, dinosaur, etc.
With the modelling pieces in different places, walk around
the classroom and get themmoving the pieces, telling you
which joints are moving.
