Games
•
Play ‘Joints charades’. Make movable joints index cards by
writing the following activities on a piece of cardboard or
paper:
– Baseball
– Football
– Basketball
– Push-ups
– Do ‘The robot’
•
The game: ask students to come out and play the ‘Joints
charades’. They mime the activity while the rest of the class
guess what sport/game it is. Then, all together, work out
which joints are in play in each activity.
•
Play ‘Toymakers’. You need Zoob or similar modelling
pieces. Organise the class into groups. Each group is going
to build their own robot, animal, dinosaur, etc.
•
With the modelling pieces in different places, walk around
the classroom and get themmoving the pieces, telling you
which joints are moving.
