Titulo Parts of my body
Extra ideas!
Revision
•
Play a game of ʻSimon Saysʼ asking children to point to or
move different body parts.
•
Play the ‘Body Parts’ game. Divide the class into small
groups (each group will be a part of the body). You then
show a flashcard and the group that has that part of the
body will have to say the word and touch that part of their
body. Repeat with new flashcard.
Extension
•
Encourage the children to label three more body parts they
know on the photo
(hip, ankle, elbow, knee).
•
Draw themonster!’Write on the board a set of characteristics
that the monster will have
(three legs, five yellow eyes…).
Children then draw the monster with those characteristics.
Decorate the classroomwith the monster drawings.
•
Ask students if they can think of another song where they
sing body parts. Sing with them and do the actions to
Head,
shoulders, knees and toes,
but changing the verse to
‘Head,
arm, leg and foot, leg and foot’.
You can then sing
Head,
shoulders, knees and toes
as a warm-up for the next lesson
about joints.
How to start
•
Play an action game. Give three instructions, for example,
Nod your head, roll your neck, wave your arms.
The children
do the three actions. Change the order or change the actions
increasing in speed each time. Other actions include:
clap
your hands, bend your legs, shake your foot.

of the body as they hear them. Play Track 4, pausing and
