Sing and play
If you’re happy and you know it.
Change the
second verse to: ‘If you’re angry and you know it stamp your
feet’. Tell the class to stand up, sing and do the actions with
you. Change the verses so that you use a variety of emotions
(sad, worried, tired, etc, as well as the different parts of the
body to revise body parts.
Make a class Emotions booklet or poster. Take photos of
children doing different emotions: sad, angry, happy, tired,
etc. Print the photos and write the emotion under each one.
Get the class to put the photos into a booklet or on a poster
and display these in the classroom.
You can use this throughout the year so that they can
express how they are feeling that day and help them
identify how others are feeling (when a student gets angry
with someone in class you can ask him to go and point at
the emotion).
