Procedure:
1.
Make a group with three or four other students.
2.
First put the stool in the centre of the classroom. One
group member sits on the stool. This person is the Earth.
3.
Next, a di erent group member holds the ball about one
metre in front of the Earth. The ball is the Moon.
4.
Finally, another group member stands holding the torch
about two metres away from the Moon. The torch is the
Sun.
5.
Point the light from the torch towards the Earth. Make
sure that the Sun, Moon and Earth are in a straight line.
6.
Take turns to sit on the stool and be the Earth.
7.
Try holding the Moon in di erent positions
8.
When you have nished, draw pictures in your notebook
to show what you did and write sentences to explain what
you discovered.

orange for the Moon
