As we make our wooden puzzle, we will have to pay special attention to health and safety rules.
TANGRAM

The base of the box.

The holder for the puzzle and the puzzle itself.

The top of the box.
The box is made from four pieces, glued together when
they’ve been prepared.
Look at the picture and identify the parts of the puzzle.
Instructions
1.
Mark and cut out the four equal parts.
2.
Mark and cut out the outline of the puzzle in two
of the pieces so that they’re in the same position.
3.
Sand the inner edges of the pieces and the outline
of the puzzle so that they fit together easily.
4.
Assemble the pieces putting glue between the two
outlines, the bottom edge, the base, the cover and
the top. Leave these pieces together as they dry
but don’t glue any of the puzzle pieces so you can
get them out once
everything is dry.
5.
Cut out the puzzle
pieces.
6.
Sand them and
the outer edges of
the box.
7.
Paint or varnish
the puzzle pieces.

and its box you have to divide the board in four equal parts. These parts will be:

Before

Check that the equipment and tools are in perfect
condition.

Revise how to use the equipment and tools.
During

Clamp the pieces appropriately with a bar clamp or
bench vice so they don’t move.

Pay close attention to sharp objects like the compass
and the awl so you don’t hurt yourself.
❚❚
Keep your hands behind the blades of cutting
tools.
❚❚
Don’t blow on sawdust because it can get in your
eyes and cause serious damage.
❚❚
You are advised to use goggles or gloves when
necessary.
❚❚
Try to be neat and keep only the tools you are using
for each job on the workbench.
After

Clean the equipment and tools you’ve used and if
necessary, check that they are in perfect condition.
❚❚
Put away the tools and materials that you’ve used
when you finish.
