Atmosphere, weather
and climate
The atmosphere is made up of three layers of gases surrounding the Earth. The layer that
we live in contains the air that we breathe. It’s important to look after our atmosphere.
Weather is a set of atmospheric conditions at a specific time. Climate is the name we give
to the typical atmospheric conditions in a place. Earth has different climates according to
factors such as location, altitude and closeness to water. By the end of this unit you will
know about weather, different climates, and how to look after the atmosphere.
