Introduction to the unit
How to start
•
Look at the opening illustration for the unit and encourage
students to work in pairs and describe the things they see
to one another.
•
Ask the students questions about the picture, for example:
Where are they? Can you find Coco? Point to the baby. What
is the boy doing? Is there food on the table in the garden?
•
Explain to the students that Ben is visiting Amy’s house.
She’s at home with her family.

Ask the students to listen and to find the
different family members in the illustration (father, mother,
grandmother (granny), brother and baby sister, aunt, uncle,
