students to sing along and do the actions.
Review what people do to help us and different jobs.
Activities: step-by-step guide
Activity 1
Organise students into groups of 4-5.
Invite the students to brainstorm different jobs in the city
and different people who help us.
Tell each group that they are going to work in their groups
and make job dolls.
Distribute job doll templates, magazines, scissors, glue
and coloured pencils to each group. Tell them to cut out
their dolls, decide which job they are going to illustrate and
decorate their dolls accordingly. Tell them to make sure that
everyone in the group does a different job and to share the
materials with one another nicely.
When groups have finished, they introduce their job dolls to
the class or to different groups of students/job dolls. They
can say, for example,
Hello! I’m a baker! I work in a bakery. I
make bread. Oh hi! I’m a police officer. I help people.
